TVB 2009 Lighting ceremony

Basically, Best actress is just going to fall tothe hands of Shereen Tang San Lai Lai and Best actor is just a fight between Chai Kau and Laughing Gor isnt it? The whole world knows it.

Why do they even need the lighting ceremony even?

TVB really think that Tavia Yueng will be able to defeat the 30 yrs experience Sheeren Tang and against the wishes of all the netizens and TVB fanatics? Forget it! Delaying the award cermoney will not help in pushing away Sheeren Tang with Tavia. Bad choice in their move obviously. Sheeren, after so many years, finally saw a glimpse of light in TVB. Trying to pull her down with 亲生女, Tavia Yueng is obviously not going to work, unless Tavia has some ultimate breakthrough is Scheme of Palace that will awe the TVB community, or else, chances are slim that she will make it.

However, in the race for best actor, it is defintely exciting to see who will make it to the top at the end. Laughing Gor, causes such a phenomenoem that is rare to see in this era of TVB already. His words, his action, his ultimate death, all has affected viewers and netizens so much that people petition against his death, just to let him 翻生。His FB furneral page attracted millions of netizens to pay their last respect to him. TVB even came out with the movie, Laughing Gor 之变节 for him just to satisfy the whines of viewers just to see him again. However, viewers and netizens, being people of forgetful nature, may have already forgotten about Laughing Gor and the waves have calm. The Academy 3 was screen at the first half of the year, which actually IS a long time ago. Luckily for Laughing Gor, the movie was out not so long ago and thus, managed to revive some of the memory that these forgetful animals have for him.

Besides him, the most popular choice will be Wayne Lai, Chai Gau. Kam Guok Hiu Hong, his on screen chemistry with Sheeren Tang is definetely something that is rare on TVB series these days. SImilar to Laughing gor, Chai Gau also have a huge support fan base from the netizen which is evident from the facebook group and online discussion in forums that has been on going, discussing about Chai Gau fate. More importantly, Kam Guok is being aired recently, which mean that people will be more likely to remember it better than Laughing Gor. Nonetheless the outcome, it will be interesting. As for me, i believe that TVB will give the consolation 我最喜爱的男角 to the one without best defintely, just to shut the mouth of fans from both side.

First off :

Cause an uproar in HK viewers. No, not Michael Miu this time. Not Ron or Samuel too. Its Mr Laughing.

Famous laughing GOR!

Millions partition to revive him from his death.
He is now known as the person who has the highest change of being revived next to Jesus Christ.
Some fans started FB group to revive him, but still, Laughing Gor did not make a comeback.

However, new movie, prequel for laughing Gor is in place.

Series wise, very different from its predecessors. Feel more like a TVB version of Infernal Affairs.

Yup, the story is still ok, predictable story cliche lines. But all handsome guys executing them. Its ok.

Nothing much to talk about it, since its just like another cop and undercover show.

I love the series. Especially when actresses start burning the kitchens, pouring oil around the place, screaming for fireman or when the judges just vomit their guts out eating those food actress cooked. My favorite entertainment!!!!

Reviews

I finally got around to finish this series which is sitting somewhere on the harddisk for some time. I was always wondering about how one series has got room for this 3 male leads of different character. Well, i finally know how, but abit to my disappointment, there is little of Wu Zun. Who can get enough of him????

Anyway, i am glad that Jerry got around for some breakthrough, to be truthful, i had not seen him since Meteor Garden and in my memory, all he does is having his anger management problem. I am glad it kind of tame down, and his emotion's scene does seems like emotions scene after all.
Main lead position falls to Show Luo as judging from domination of screen time. He does seems to have alot better tearing scenes these days. But he kept his act cute entiques, which some times, i really cannot stomach. But more or less, he is still the sharpest in all the 3 leads, able to remain focus on himself.
They seems to really know how to play basketball. Not bad, quite nice, especially those special effect moves, i like Kung Fu. They had kungfu style basketball. The series was carried with very distinct anime style, fire ball, sudden illlogical twist, moves and images. But for a non anime fan like me, some parts did not work that well, especially the image part of those bad guys, turns me off, big time.
Story is draggy as foresee (which idol drama is not?) Many basketball and technical talks. But there is illustration, so still not that dry.

Synopsis

Fong Hok-Man (Paul Chun) works in a bookstore and lives by the principles that knowledge is power. He has 3 children, 2 sons - Sum-Ming (Wayne Lai) and Sum-Ching (Eric Suen) and a daughter, Sum-Mei (Lily Ho). Sum Ming is not good in his studies and did not further his education at the tertiary level. However, Sum-Ching is very smart and chose to further his studies in IT at a university in United States. To fund his studies, Sum Ming works hard in Mauritius for better pay.

The two brothers now decides to return to Hong Kong. Coincidentally, they both end up working in the same commercial building, Sum-Ming as a security guard while Sum-Ching works as a Senior network Security Engineer. Hok-Man is afraid that the brothers' different job levels will cause a rift in their relationship.

Sum Ming starts to fall for Yuen Wai-Chung (Sonija Kwok), who owns a clay model shop. Hok-Man tries to help Sum Ming launch a better career by buying a bookstore for him to manage. Sum-Ching, who already has a girlfriend, Abbie Lui Yuen-Yee (Shirley Yeung), starts to fall for his colleague, Chui Hei-Man (Vivien Yeo).^[1]

My Take

The name already tells u that this drama is about computer (click) and house. But it is actually more of a family show then anything else.
They make fun of msn, addiction to computers, facebook (which they call lookface), ebook, computer hacking, security and so on.
They also talk about how books are getting out with the youngster cause of internet and so on....

But the good thing about this show is not about this. But because it is a warmly feeling show. Yeah, its cliche, but it just depends on how it is being carried out that's all.
The family thing is getting a bit too mushy for me but i think that some of the family conflict part is good. It is like something we experience everyday. Different view points that raise arguments, thinking that our parents are out and we know more about stuff.

Short 20 eps series, quite beautifully executed, not much of dragging or wasting of time. Good 20 hours spend on this series.

I feel hype about ATV new series.

I think its been 10 years since i watch a "new" ATV series. The last being My Date with Vampire and the last ATV show i re-watch is also that.
Number of times that i watch an ATV show can be counted with a hand cause it being so rare and sucky most of the time. True, ATV has got real good actors, that beats some TVB First and second line fa-dans and xiu sheng. But that is not enough as a good attractive series take more than that and ATV has trouble doing that.

The cast is good from this series, anybody with sharp eyes will recognise that most of the cast has appeared in TVB most hitted series, 壹號皇庭 Files Of justice 1,2,3,4,5,6.
(Files of Justice series is one of my earliest TVB series that i had watch.)

Sounds like Files of Justice + Forensic Heroes. Hope it does not comes out too crappy.

Trivia
Lawrence Ng was said to be sued by TVB because he acted this show and also accepted interviews in cantonese even though he still have an ongoing contract with TVB. TVB issued a lawyers letter, wanting him to stop his job with ATV in 3 days time. Lawrence Ng retorted that his contract with TVB has ended in June 2008 and TVB has problems if they extend his contract without his consent.

Synopsis

Gwai Choi-Chi (Linda Chung) is seemingly an ordinary girl, except that luck seems to follow her and keep her out of trouble. As such, she has been nicknamed, Ho Choi Mui, or "Lucky Girl". Unknown to her, Choi-Chi's mother, Ho Choi Ma, is in fact a plant spirit. When an evil spirit captures Choi-Chi, her mother's secret is revealed. In an attempt to save her, Ho Choi Ma turns Choi-Chi into a demigod.

As a child, Shek Kam-Dong (Benny Chan) was constantly bullied. Wong Tai Sin, a wish-granting god, pities Kam-Dong and grants him extraordinary strength. However, with his strength, Kam-Dong has turned from victim to bully.

An Hei (Sunny Chan) has an unusual illness; he is constantly tired and falls asleep randomly. Wong Tai Sin again tries to help the mortals by giving An Hei a sword possessed by a spirit (Stephen Au). Whenever An Hei gets in trouble, the powerful spirit of swordplay appears and fights off his enemies.

One day, an evil wizard (Halina Tam) disturbs their quiet village and captures Ho Choi-Ma. Together, Choi-Chi, Kam-Dong and An Hei travel across the continent to save Ho Choi-Ma, making strange and magicial discoveries along the way.

Views

It is a low budget production, nothing compared to the similar genre of Canonization of the Gods produce in 2001. Although graphics and special effects are loads better in this 2006 made production, it is sort of missing out on its colourful attractive elements that is always present in similar genre of supernatural gods and demon story.

This drama has been inside the warehouse for 2 years, being printed on both 2007 and 2008 sales presentation, it finally saw the light 2 months ago where is was broken up into 30 min episodes making 42 eps instead of the original release of 22 eps.

We see Linda Chung's acting improve through these year. A production 2 years ago will tell us that how much more better she acts now in Moonlight Resonance than in this show. But because the character is very cute and nice, closer to her personality (or at least the one she is trying to portray off-screen) we can overlook that fact.

This series is light hearted and funny, breaking away from the normal reality where people are kind and helpful. They show u plots u read from kindergarden storybook, be helpful and u will have good ending. But its a mytical story about people who became god and god helping people. What more do u expect from doing good?

Conclusion
Good to catch when u are bored, need to have some senseless laugh.

Lets talk about...

TVB-HK - The Four 四大名捕

More well known as the most manly series of the year. Why? Because its dominated by men!
We have Raymond Lam , Samuel Chan, Kenneth Ma, Ron Ng. All of them are well known Xiew-Sheng of TVB. One series with 4 siew-sheng is rare. Especially when its market as a medium low budget series. But the most important thing is handsome guys are fighting in the show. Thats all that matter.

I was prepared for a rubbish plot show after seeing the rest of the cast. Seems like a publicity show after all. But i was wrong. The plot does have its gripping points. Although most of the parts are so prdictable, u must give then credit for trying to adapt the novel into such a way that it still seems interesting after all.
And also, its my martial art series u know.

4 actors has done a good job in seperating each person's role. Although all 4 are in the same scene all the time, we can easily see the difference between them and the dynamics they put into the show.

Beside the four, the show is coupled with Selena Li and Kate Tsui (yucks i hate her). Only 2 slightly famous actress with 4 guys. I must credit Selena Li for being less annoying in the show as the series goes. I thought i will skip her parts after watching the front because i hate annoying princessy sassy girl. But when it gets more into the show, i sort of warm up to her character.
I always has no big impression towards her. She is an ok 3 rd line actress where her roles usually comprises of weak woman or slut that snatch BF. I think she has a good potential to act better if her voice is not so "deiiii". But on the overall, she has done a better job then Kate Tsui.
And oh, i hate Kate Tsui, ok, i am biased, i dont care, its my blog i can review her anyhow i want. She sucks. I knew she the bad guy because she can never carry a good guy look.

Anyway, back to the plot, there is no happy ending relationships for all the guys.
Selena and Kenneth are the best of all. But they cant get married because Selena is the triad boss.
Raymond and Kate cant be together because Kate sucks. Ok, not because of that but because she is disfigured and she is a bad guy and felt ashamed to be with Raymond.
Ron and Ms X (X cause i dont know her name), Ms X became a nun.
Samuel and Ms Y(another Girl with a rather huge role but name is unknown to me as well ) because Ms Y decide to go for further study to be a successful carpenter.

TVB 萬千星輝頒獎典禮2008 Out.

The award ceremony ended 1 hour ago. Award list out. Not much difference from my anticipated. If 4D so ZHUN i sure win money already.

All the major awards are being swept by Moonlight Resonance Team.

I think this award ceremony can be called as the moonlight Resonace Party since moonlight has snatch all the awards. But since so many people from moonlight resonance got nominated, it is also interesting to see who got the award in the end and also, what happen to people who did not get awarded.

　　王祖蓝：多谢。我很紧张，所以要一点准备，我感动到没有什么时间哭，很多人感谢的，多谢陈先生、乐小姐……（大念准备稿），最后要感谢我妈妈、奶奶、弟弟，所有的弟兄姐妹。最后要感谢的就是看着我的王爸爸，还有我这样拿到奖，不知道是奇迹还是什么？

　　TVB增设人气大奖林峰凭《家好月圆》获奖

　　崔健邦：今年TVB还增设人气大奖，就是统计网友点击哪一个艺人的网址最多，现在前三甲就有佘诗曼、林峰，还有刚刚拿奖的胡定欣，谁可以最后夺得大奖，广告之后就会揭晓。

　　林峰：首先很感谢，很高兴拿到今年新增的奖项，感谢投票给我票的朋友们，感谢帮我们做TVB博客和TVB.COM的同事。

　　苏施黄凭《苏GOOD》摘得最佳节目主持奖

　　郑裕玲：接下来颁的就是最佳节目主持，我心目中觉得颁奖人也是最佳主持，我一开始做主持、司仪的时候，他教我很多东西，跟他同台，第一次很紧张，这么多年站到这里，我也不会紧张，但他很久没有跟大家做现场节目了，不知道他会不会脚发颤，

　　何守信：多谢DO姐姐，我颁的是“最佳节目主持”，很多人都认为做节目主持，要讲求外形、声线等等好不好，其实都有例外的，现在站在第一线的司仪就是又矮、声音又听不清楚的，但他做主持很红，其实做节目主持，是需要用心做的，不是用身体去做，而是要用心去做，并且有生命力，用自己的语言，记性好不好没有关系。另外就是近期香港的司仪有走下的趋势，不是指水准，而是指身高，比如曾志伟，还有刚拿到奖的王祖蓝。

　　郑裕玲：接下来颁的就是“最佳综艺信息节目”，请出我们的颁奖嘉宾。

　　卢大伟：今天很开心，遇到很多好朋友，颁的奖是“最佳综艺信息节目”，我讲一下我的心得，我认为做综艺节目，现在的艺人和以往的，真的有不同，以前的艺人只能够做一个笑脸，然后就有效果了，现在就要做行得正，走得直，就是有行政的层次，就可以选角色，选谁来搭配你。讲笑而已，看一看三强是什么？

SYNOPSIS:
Joe Cheng will play the role of Frank who’s entire life has achieved nothing, and has to beg for his debts, Ariel Lin will play the role of Zheng Shan Mei, has an ordinary family background, with 3 jobs to support her parents, her brothers, and nephews and even has to send money monthly to her boyfriend who’s studying in America .

Regardless of her parents disapproval, Zhang Shen Mei resigns from her work, and decides to follow her love in America to get married, but she just found out of her boyfriend’s betrayal, and with no money left, she decided to return to Taiwan secretly and there she met Frank (Joe Zheng) and unexpetedly she and Frank will be living in a worn out house together.

One is lazy and irresponsible, one is hard-working and kind hearted, 2 different individuals who’s only similarity is to live for money. Frank doesnt like Shan Mei’s eagerness to make a living, but eventually his feelings begins to change, but he only keeps his feelings to himself, he’s even willing to leave her if its gonna make Shan Mei’s happy. Until one day, Shan Mei found her prince, En hao, who’s rich, a kind man, and very considerate, very different from Frank who’s irresponsible and does not make any progress in life. But when she’s with En hao, she’s starting to think about Frank, would she give up him up or not….

I dont know. It sounded like a rubbish. But wait, which idol drama is not a piece of rubbish to begin with? Xiao Zhong and Ariel Lin collaboration seems very repetitive. But since this time there is a big change in the characters they are acting, will there be new sparks and chemistry?

Hope there will be because Ariel Lin has just gotten the golden bell award for best actress. She better show she deserrve the award.

The role of Ariel Lin was given to Da-S at first. Da-S has finish shooting poster, character dressing and it is unti lit is about to start filming before she shuoted STOP.

Couple of rumors to why she quitted which included because the director has requested Da-S to gain more weight for this show and also dorn blue and white slippers for this show. This pull the last straw for Princess Da-S and she quitted the show. But of course, the official reason was that she does not have enough time to handle this show.

TVB New Series: The Gems Of Life

The most expensive production for TVB up to date, costing 1 billion HKD. This is also show of the year for TVB. It has took 1 whole year to film and another year for post production. It spans over many countries including, Tsing Dao, Shanghai, ShenZhen, Dong Guan, Zhu Hai, Mongol, Macau, Thailand, France, Austrilia for its scenes. It has already start airing in HK and Astro On Demand starting from last week and has rather high ratings due to the many new of the series even before airing. This series is 80 eps long which will spans over the anniversary awards 08. This will also be Gigi Lai last TV series as she will be quitting the industry to take care of his brother who is is vegetative state due to a traffic accident earlier last year.

Story is about David Jiang who is a well known diamond master, his wife Lee Sze Kee and his three daughter, Maggie Shiu, Gigi Lai and Ada Choi. As the 3 daughter grew up in the world of diamonds, their mother hope that they will marry well into the wealthy family. And so, they did which after causes loads of problems as they marry mans of different power and starts a power struggling between diamonds, money and kinship.
It is abit like the Soong Sister story, which is one of my favourite. But i think that they are not so cool when compared.

TVB 41st Anniversary Award Nominated list.

The annual TVB anniversary is here again (Nov 15). It also means the internal TVB conflict surfacing and everyone struggling to get most exposure in order to get an award to use as an amulet to secure his/her placing in the coming year. Award also means his/her place in the company and how much is the company will be supporting him in the future.

Moonlight Resonance continue to be both personal favorite and also, the hottest candidate for many awards. Who ask it to have ratings like 50 points? Almost 90% of Hong Kong people are watching this show, breaking all previous records of viewing rate. If without accident (like Kevin Cheng in 39th), Moonlight Resonance will continue its winning streak in 40th, taking away most awards of the ceremony again.

I am angry that Fala Chen getting into Most favourite female role rather than Tavia Yueng. She so deserve every single bit of it with her role in MoonLight Resonace as the always being blamed for nothing, crying in secret person.

HK-TVB- 尖子攻略 (EP 20/20)

What is 尖子攻略? It actually comes from the street language of HK, pa jim. Which means getting As or bring gifted. In the case of this series, Bobby Au-Yueng they are trying to train soccer boys, Keegan Treasures, 基謹三寶(3 cute boys), into talented soccer stars who not only good in soccer but also, in studies. Of course Bobby has a motive in doing this. Bobby who is a self centered, money loving man, hopes to get money out of this project to clear his debts. Keegan Treaures are no pusher either, they are going to make life for Bobby as difficult as Bobby is making theirs. In the quest for As and stardom, there are of course ups and downs. Talks about peer pressure, treasuring of family, traditional values, BGR, extra-martial affairs and so on.

Seriously, when i saw the poster above, i wasnt too keen in watching cause beside Bobby, Benz, Sheeren Tang, Serick Kok, there isnt anyone else that will attract any attention. Ever since wathcing Derick Kok from WOIL 2 and DIE, i had a changed impression of him and i think he has the potential of having a bigger role. And in this series, he manage to score it.
In the first place, i watch this series because its by Bobby Au Yueng. He is one of the best comedian around in TVB and no one will disagree. He is also an insurance for small budget production, rating will be ensured to be decent if he is in. Although i am very dissapointed by his Marriage of inconvinience, which can be descibed as his worst, i am still prepared to give this series a try because this time round, his partner will be Sheeren Tang, who is a very strong actress. I believe that a series is more than just one actor or actress. There must be certain chemistry around the team.

Another good reasons is that is about my occupation. Nope, not bath room singer, but tuition.
In HK, tutor are very popular nowadays. Espcially with packaging and loads of things we cant even imagine like video classes, television ads, executive packaging for tutor, banners, newspaper, they are everywhere. Just like our slimming ads, they are even in train.
Sheeren Tang is a very popular tutor in the show. She is very picky when it comes to choosing students, she only picks student who fits her criteria. Parents kneel on the floor to get her to teach their child.

And of course, under certain circumstances and scenes that only happen in TVB drama, Sheeren Tang ended up teaching Keegan Treasure (who are as good as rubbish). Against her will.

Bobby Au Yueng - He is whatever character he act. There is no image for him to comment on either. I must really comment on his acting skills, without image or looks to set him aside from the different roles, he still manage to make others see the difference, thats really somthing.

Sheeren Tang- Cool tutor. I like her style. Her role is quite differnet from previous roles, like La Femme Desperado where she is strong and feel she does not need a man. Her role in YCOM is very strong too, but she is very driven by emotions too, unlike her coolness. The scene of emotions comes so naturally and she seems to do it with such ease. This is why its easy to watch him and Bobby together since they seems natural at it.

Conclusion

Not a bad small prooduction, not very surprising but not dissapointing as well. If you got too much time, this is good. Especially when the 罗仲谦，梁证嘉，梁烈唯 are very cute. I hope that they win some awards in the upcoming ceremony.

Finally, i am finish with this series. Its been a long way since i first started with this series. Its not because this series is not interesting or gripping, but it just lost its colour beside other series that is out like MoonLight Resonance.

As i might have put it, Legend Of the Condor Heroes is my favorite among chinese novel. It is my first ever 金庸 novel which is also, the first ever piece of chinese literature i read that has more than 1200000 words. The first chapter took me a whole 3 days i remember. I was almost bored to death my all the description of deserts, revenge and country hatred. When i was about to give up, the interesting part kick in. Thank GOD for that. And it only took me another 3 days to finish the rest of the 39 chapters. I could not stopped reading 金庸 after that.

And so, re-making of this series IS a big deal to me. I was so thrilled when they first announce the re-making in 2006. The last re-making was in 2003 where it is also a China base production. This series was surrounded by bad news and accidents. One of them is where male lead, Hu Ge was involved in a traffic accident where his driver/ assistant died and Hu Ge landed in ICU for weeks and disfigured when he woke up. Plans for LOCH 2006 was officially put on hold till Hu Ge finish plastic surgery and when the rest of the cast is able to make time again. It is not until 1 year later that the filming was resume.

It must be 1983 remake by TVB. Huang Rong was acted by the late 翁美玲 where she became popular overnight. She died cause of relationship problems with actor 汤镇业 2 years after her success in this show. Even in the most recent vote by major netizen, she is voted as the most ideal Huang Rong ever. My Michael Miu look so handsome as the villian of the show.

Of couse i wont have doubt 張紀中 as a producer but seriously, Zhou Jie(Er-Kang in Princess Pearl 1,2,3) as Yang Kang is not a good choice. His image as a good husband and man is too deep from his Er Kang role and nobody is gonna believe he is badass Yang Kang. But Lee Ya Peng is really very Guo Jing in this show, looking stupier than ever. Zhou Xun, being one of the best recent actress, carry off the role well too. She has the charisma and spirit of Huang Rong, the little devil.

Huang Rong is the world's most cleverest and brightest woman in LOCH. But she is mischievous with a weird temperament like her Dad.

Hu Ge (胡歌) as Kwok Jing (郭靖)

He is a chivalrous man with a strong sense of justice.

Liu Si Si (刘诗诗) as Mu Lian Ci (穆念慈)
Being an adopted girl, she is shy by nature. But she is rash and she is the supporter of the bright and good. But she is blinded by love and Yang Kang lead her to Oblivion.

Yuan Hong (袁弘) as Yang Kang (杨康)
In the original version, he is greedy and vainglorious. Yang Kang in the 08 version, however have to struggle between his identities as a Yang's heir and the Prince of Jin Guo.

Kathy Chou Hai Yan (周海媚) as Bao Xi Luo(包惜弱)

She is kind and stupid. Mother of Yang Kang, Wife of Wan Yan Hong Lie and Yang Tie Xin.
Seriously, she is even more dumb then Yang Guo.

Guo Liang (郭亮) as Wan Yan Hong Lie (完颜洪烈)
Clever and wise politician. He is the King of Jin Guo. Highly patriotic to his country which puts him in the opposition of Yang Tie Xin and Yang Guo. In this series, there is alot of emphasis on him. I am so surprise because they gave so much colour to a role who is just a minor weak villian in the original series. I think that this is one of the little times i am happy about a change in original story line.

Liang Jia Ren (梁家仁) as Bei Gai Hong Qi Gong (北丐洪七公)

Hong Qi Gong is the leader of Begger Sect, the biggest sect in story until he passed on the Dog beating stick to Huang Rong who took over his place.
Martial Art: 降龙十八掌，打狗棒法，逍遥游拳法，满天花雨等等。

Xu Jin Jiang (徐锦江) as Xi Du Qu Yang Feng (西毒欧阳锋)
Villian who causes problems for everyone. Evil and poisonous, thus the name. Loves snakes and sneak attacking people. Loves martial arts. Ended up crazy.
Martial Art: 蛤蟆功. Beside that, he simply just uses his poisonous snake to poison everyone else.

Anthony Wong(黄秋生) as Dong Xie Huang Yao Shi(东邪黄药师)
Weird person. Loves to be opposite of normal people. Has no regards for normal moral values that people teaches. Loves to go against it. Spoils her daughter Huang Rong too much.
Martial Arts:「彈指神通」、「蘭花拂穴手」、「落英神劍掌」、「旋風掃葉腿」、「玉簫劍法」和 and 碧海潮生曲.

Li Yu (李彧) as Zhou Bo Tong/ Lao Wan Tong (周伯通)
Crazy old fella. Love chaos. In a messy triangle with Ying Gu and Nan Di Duan Wang Ye.

My Views
Though i am looking forward to this remake, it was simply based on my attraction to the story. I think even if they remake it in Thailand with Thailand Cast, i will still watch it. But nonetheless, the cast and chemistry is great. Hu Ge and Ariel Lin had collaborated in Tian Wai Fei Xian before, but i always feel their pairing as akward and mainly of marketing prupose to increase popularity for both Taiwan and China viewers. But i am really glad that this time round, there is really sparks betwen the pairing. Not just this 2 but Yang Kang and Mu Nian Ci and Ou Yang Ke.

I had always been skeptic towards any series or movie remake that changes the original story because they always spoils it. There is almost no exception to this rule till LOCH 08. Like the storyline of OuYang Ke and his father is really nice. It actually increases depth to OuYang Ke and Ou Yang Feng character and had make better way as to why OuYang Ke behave this way and this is not explained in the original story. Beside this, the background story of Yang Kang also makes him seems more than just a mercenary person and also, brings in focus on Wan Yan Hong Lie who is actually worth focusing on.

But of course, i do not like all changes. Like example of how Yang Kang turn bad, then good again. How he got killed. Why will Ou Yang Feng suddenly find his way to Niu Jia Chun at the end of the series to kill him, as if he had a sudden pause to his madness. Some of the changes also affects the original description and goes against it. Like how Qiu Qian Ren appear himself to Yang Kang, trying hard to please and helped him. As in the original description, he is very proud even though he likes money and power. He will not have beg Yang Kang to take his offer. As a sect leader, i also do not believe that he allowed tresspasser to steal the Wu Mu Yi Shu.

But still in a nutshell, this is one good production which is well worth watching eventhough it is 50 episodes long and at times, it do gets boring.
